In 2024, we took a notion. We ran Playing Fields workshops and a week of spontaneous theatre collaborations at Players Theatre.
This year, we're teaming up with Ireland’s improv Earth-mother Jessica Keith and GATHER Improv Festival to bring you another jam-packed week of workshops and performances in July.

Jessica Keith is hosting incredible performers and comedians from across the GATHER Improv Community every night from Thu 9 – Sat 11 of July, and you're all invited to take part in our legendary Improv Jam on Saturday evening.

Jess Keith and David Keeling host a magical improv journey of whimsy, connection, and made-up rituals to bring us closer to the Source. A workshop culminating in a 'performance' of sorts to help expand our imaginations of what improv can be.
A bit about GATHER
GATHER Improv Festival began as a small festival retreat in 2020 — bringing together practitioners of improvisational comedy and theatre in the Irish countryside, with an emphasis on highlighting the improv community in Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Gathering momentum ever since, the festival has combined workshops, performances, curated happenings and improv jams to create one magical event. A weekend for improvisors to come together in a gorgeous festival-nature vibe with loads of space to roam, congregate, and connect.
GATHER has become the heart and home of the Irish Improv scene. More than an annual event, Jessica Keith created a GATHER community through the festival. We're honoured to bring all of the connections we've made in the tents and woodlands, at campfires, and over meals shared at Martinstown House, and provide a stage for this year's festival gathering at Players Theatre.
